Good to know that it is someone from the United Kingdom who picked up this piece of information and posted it here on Instablogs. This apart it is indeed sad to know that the oldest man to have lived is no more. Regarding his DOB controversy of whether he was born in 1870 or 1878 I believe it was 1870 for these oldies are always confused about their Birth Year. If he did reveal he was born in 1870 it must have been the truth. God give him peace.
